Do you notice yourself gravitating to negative thoughts about the treat you just ate & your weight?

Do you notice yourself gravitating to negative thoughts about your worthiness, your purpose, your value on this planet?
Good news, you're a human. Our brains are wired to do this.
BUT IT CAN BE SO FRUSTRATING WHEN WE DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS & WE BELIEVE WHAT THE B.S. THOSE NEGATIVE VOICES ARE TELLING US...
THERE'S ANOTHER OPTION...
I love to think about our brain as THE MOST AMAZING GIFT OF A COMPUTER ON THE PLANET. SERIOUSLY, IT IS SO CRAZY AWESOME.
One thing that most of our brains has is a "negativity bias" or an instinct to always be on the lookout for "danger" or what is "wrong" with a situation. This instinct is meant to keep us alive. But so many of us get stuck in it.
Most of our brains instinctively focus on the negative. We don't think to question the negative talk. It often "occurs" as the "truth".
BUT...WHAT IF IT'S NOT THE TRUTH?
What if your brain could start to more habitually look at the lessons & the victories INSTEAD OF THE "NEGATIVE NELLY VOICES"?
What could be possible then?

MAKE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE TO CELEBRATE THEM: FIRST OF ALL, what is a victory & why
celebrate it? I find it helpful to delineate this-it’s just helpful for our
brains.
For the intents
of our work, a victory is something you choose to do that is in alignment with
your goals for weight-release.
A victory is
movement towards your goal. It’s
important to celebrate them because it’s another way to take your brain to the
gym.
It helps create new neural pathways of habits to start focusing on what DID happen that was good instead of defaulting to what didn't happen that was "bad".
NOW. LET’S TALK ABOUT

YAY! YA-HOO!! WA-HOO!!! GO YOU!! WAY TO GO MAMA! WAY TO GO

MAKE A CONSCIOUS CHOICE & A CONSCIOUS PRACTICE
TO FOCUS ON
YOUR VICTORIES
For those of you in coaching with
me, you’ll notice we start off by listing your victories for the week. We do
this on purpose.
We are waking the brain up to choosing to see all the good,
all the progress you’ve made.
As we consciously choose to focus on
the victories, that more primitive/survival/habitual brain software that wants to only seek
for danger, (what’s wrong with us, what’s wrong with what we’ve done) is given
less energy, less attention. It helps us see that we have been learning,
growing, changing.
This is critical. As we are setting
goals & learning new skills around taking care of our bodies, loving our
bodies, & most importantly, taking care of ourselves & loving
ourselves, it’s so important to consciously choose to focus on this.
Letting the primitive brain focus on
the danger/what’s wrong DOES NOT CREATE LASTING CHANGE. It only creates:
SURVIVAL. THE END. When we focus on the “danger/what’s wrong”, the brain only
looks for that & creates survival results. It doesn’t effectively create
long-term, well-being results.
I’ve said that a lot. I WON’T STOP
SAYING IT.
AS WE CONTINUE TO MAKE A CONSCIOUS
CHOICE & A PRACTICE OF FOCUSING ON OUR VICTORIES, our brain will seek to
create more victories. The practicing part is essential. We have to make it a
practice to re-wire our neural pathways.
WE CAN DO THIS BY COMMITTING TO ASK OURSELVES EACH DAY:
WHAT WERE MY VICTORIES TODAY?
WHAT WERE MY VICTORIES IN THAT SITUATION?
HOW CAN I CHOOSE TO SEE THE VICTORIES IN THIS SITUATION?
HOW MANY VICTORIES CAN I LIST ON PAPER?!
STARTING TO CHOOSE THESE QUESTIONS INSTEAD OF DEFAULTING TO THE AUTO-PILOT "NEGATIVITY BIAS" WILL START TO MAKE SHIFTS NOT ONLY IN YOUR THINKING, BUT HOW YOU'RE FEELING, WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO & WILL REFLECT IN YOUR RESULTS.
