SPOCK HAD IT RIGHT: IT IS FASCINATING!

COLLECT FASCINATING DATA ON YOUR BODY & MIND &  BUILD TRUST IN YOURSELF One of the most important things I think we can do for ourselves in the weight-loss process or any change process is to collect data on what we are actually thinking and doing. We all go through many parts of our lives automatically & our brains our wired to do this, so nothing has gone wrong. CONSIDER COLLECTING DATA  INSTEAD OF JUDGING YOURSELF But I want you to consider the idea of just taking a couple of steps back to observe what you are thinking and doing throughout your day. Just observe it without judging (that's also what your brain is wired to do-so when you catch yourself judging yourself, say hello, oh, yeah judgement, I was expecting you & we are going to just observe my thoughts with compassion).  Specifically, observe what you are thinking before you eat & after you eat. Observe what you are feeling before you eat & after you eat.  And

WHY IS IT SO EASY TO PUT EVERYTHING & EVERYONE ELSE FIRST & NOT TAKE CARE OF YOU?

Do you ever struggle to do things to take care of yourself?  Do you take care of family members or work or staff needs before your own? Have you ever noticed how this has run you in to the ground & caused you to feel like a deep, empty bucket? OK, that may sound a little dramatic, but that's really what's happening--WE ARE EMPTYING OURSELVES OUT. My clients come to me & all of them have some type of putting other things before taking care of their basic needs like eating good food, moving their body & doing something to make sure their heart & spirits are in good shape.  I used to to do this too. Sometimes I still do. Nothing's gone wrong. It's just how our brains are wired.  My clients (and me) used to run around taking care of everyone else because they are super loving women. They are loving, giving, compassionate & want to bless the communities they live it. This is awesome. This is a gift....and...many of them were getting run dow

I’LL CONNECT IT TO THE WEIGHT-LOSS PROCESS & YOU ALSO CONNECT IT TO ANYTHING YOU ARE TRYING TO ACHIEVE IN LIFE. I’m going to give you a practical step-by-step process to understand & start to implement self-care If you have any comments or questions please type them below. We probably see a lot of amazing posts floating around about the benefits of self-care & taking time for yourself & getting a pedicure…I love them…what I don’t see a lot of is though is exactly why THOUGH… Self-care is really about taking care of the self. That is not a Pedicure to make our toes feel pretty & ou

ONE KILLER TIP TO START SELF-CARE

ONE KILLER TIP TO START SELF-CARE           SELF-CARE? WHAT?? WHY?? We hear a lot about self-care these days...but why? How??? I've been studying human instinct for several years now & I'm constantly fascinated by the instincts of our human brain. It's the most amazing thing.  One of the instincts I've been thinking about lately is the compulsion we have to put ourselves at the end of our to-do lists.  We so often feel driven to do, do, do, be busy, be busy, be busy taking care of work, things, others etc (none of this is bad or wrong).  What ends up looking like, though, is we don't pay attention to ou rselves, our brains, our hearts, our emotions, our spirits OR our bodies & we put ourselves at the end of the list.  Then we get out of touch with what our body & soul really need.  This is totally what I did a few years back that had me gain 65 lbs. I was in a continuous state of being busy & doing "stuff&quo
